We’ll do a 60-minute consultation plus a baseline test week to map out a personalized strategy that fits your lifestyle, history, and goals. I don't do cookie-cutter plans or templates.
Step 3: Ongoing Coaching & Support
This is where most people fall off on their own. Life gets busy, decisions pile up, and health slips to the back burner.

The Second Wave Story

Second Wave Wellness was born out of a truth I’ve seen too often: too many adults are living with pain, fatigue, and health conditions that can be turned around with consistent action and the right support. Not because they don’t care about their health, but because they’ve been stuck in a cycle of inconsistency, confusion, and short-term fixes.Maybe you’ve had a recent health wake-up call, like being diagnosed with high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, diabetes, weight gain, or high cholesterol. You’re given a prescription and some generic advice: “eat better, exercise, go to the gym.” But no one gives you a roadmap or the support to actually make those changes sustainable.Or maybe you’ve been dealing with ongoing pain. You’re told to rest, but no one looks deeper at your training history, lifestyle habits, or the personal factors that shape how your body feels day to day. And suddenly what began as a small flare-up of low back pain slowly stretched into years of discomfort.At Second Wave Wellness, I exist to bridge that gap. The “second wave” represents that pivotal moment when you take back control. This is your comeback. Just like the ocean’s second wave, it is stronger, more intentional, and driven by momentum. I exist to help you ride that wave toward lasting change.I provide clinically informed guidance, education, and accountability that most people never get, so you can finally make lasting changes, regain control of your health, and move forward with confidence. I don’t sell quick fixes, trendy workouts, detoxes, or empty promises. Instead, I provide the tools, knowledge, and accountability to finally build a body and a lifestyle that can keep up with the life you want to live.My clients aren’t looking for perfection. Meet Your Coach

Hi, I’m Layla! I'm a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a passion for helping people take control of their health through movement.Over the years, I’ve worked with everyone from Division I and professional athletes chasing performance, to medically complex patients navigating conditions like CRPS, lupus, and EDS, to countless adults who simply wanted to get stronger, move with confidence, and finally feel at home in their bodies.Despite their differences, many of them shared the same struggles: the cycle of quick fixes, conflicting advice, and inconsistency.That’s why I created Second Wave Wellness, a coaching experience designed to meet you where you are and bridge the gap between knowing the problem and actually reaching a solution.For so many of us, the first wave was survival mode: building careers, raising families, trying fixes that didn’t last, and putting ourselves last again and again.The Second Wave is different. It’s intentional. It’s built on trust, consistency, and progress that lasts. It’s where strength, health, and confidence finally align in a way that feels sustainable.I absolutely love what I do and see it as a privilege when someone entrusts me with their health. It’s not something I take lightly, which is why I’m always learning, refining, and striving to be a better coach.Outside of coaching, you’ll usually find me on the water, strength training, or chasing new adventures.
